Eric Schenk began his building career in Chicago in 1991 working for a design/build architect. Most projects were residential renovations & work/live loft spaces. During that time Eric also apprenticed for a custom cabinetry company, gaining finer, more detailed carpentry skills.Eric branched out on his own after moving to the Atlanta, GA area in 1994. He continued to concentrate on remodeling & renovating -- working on houses in the Buckhead & North Fulton County areas. Business grew steadily by word of mouth, however, Eric preferred to work on single projects at a time, devoting his full attention to each client.
After becoming a father of 2 boys & realizing a desire to live in the beautiful mountains of NC, Eric Schenk Carpentry was relocated to Asheville, NC in 2001. Business transformed into a small crew mainly stick framing new houses. Projects ranged from 800 to 15,000 square feet; from simply designed, straight-forward living spaces to intricate & complex luxury homes. Obtaining his General Contractor's license was a milestone, but Eric has preferred to remain in the field as a hands-on carpenter.
As the times change, Eric has come full circle back to using his creative energy to remodel & renovate homes -- making them work for Body, Mind, Spirit.
